Ukraine Business Consortium: Ian King, Sky News & Emma Sinclair MBE, CEO at EnterpriseAlumniby Alumni Content in Alumni Research, Corporate Alumni, In The News | Last Edited: 25th May 2022
Emma Sinclair MBE, CEO of EnterpriseAlumni joins Ian King on Sky News to discuss the partnership with RefuAid and many prominent UK companies to provide opportunities for refugees. More than 10 million people have been displaced by the war in Ukraine but many are struggling to find meaningful employment in the UK.
There is little to no support for refugees to gain employment that corresponds to skills and experience on arrival, so many newly arrived refugees end up in survival jobs. It is here where the initial focus is being placed: Ensuring refugees can find work commensurate with experience.
Building on the pilot program launched in March 2022 with PageGroup plc, PWC, FDM and Portman Dental Group, the consortium announced 15 companies on Sky News who have come on board to help RefuAid clients to learn English language, recertify and receive resettlement support: Thank you to BP, Mulberry, TELUS, Currys, AerFin, Dunelm, Kier Group, Persimmon, OVO, Gleeds, finnCap, Gousto, Haysmcintyre, Seenit and Midcounties Co-operative.
